Start from JR Ebisu Station (West Exit).
Meeting at Ebisu Station West Exit. On dates, I make it a rule to arrive at a meeting spot 10 minutes earlier. In Ebisu, a number of fashionable women are walking, and they are so captivating!
Head to Ebisu Yokocho (Ebisu Alley), an Unprecedentedly Popular Area.
Tokyo has many local bar streets called Yokocho-sakaba, including Omoide-yokocho (Shinjuku), Harmonica-yokocho (Kichijoji), and this Ebisu Yokocho. These areas used to be for middle-aged men, but now they are renewed to be more stylish and targeted at younger customers. Even young couples enjoy spending nighttime in this area now. OK, here we go! (Ebisu Yokocho: http://www.ebisu-yokocho.com/)
1. ‘Niku-zushi’ in Ebisu Yokocho Where Numbers of Appealing Izakayas Stand Side by Side.
The place offers fresh meat as sushi. (Niku-zushi: http://bit.ly/1eJWdzl)
Once you enter the place and order what to drink, let’s check out ‘omikuji’ (paper fortune) and keep a conversation going with your girlfriend. Every fortune probably reveals ‘dai-kichi’ (Great blessing), I guess…
Regarding love fortune, it says ‘Wearing a hot-blooded ‘latin-styled’ underwear will lead you to love failure.’ What is that?!
Look at the ceiling. It’s filled with the numbers of omikuji lovers tied there!
I order ‘akami’ (red meat) and ‘chu-toro’(medium-fatty meat).
Sashi-mori’, assorted meat sashimi.
2. BAR TRACK, a Bar Where You Can Enjoy Rock, Blues and Jazz on Vinyl Records.
Head to BAR TRACK (http://www.mathta-records.com/Track/). Here, you can hear all kinds of carefully selected music through the amazing speaker.
Please look out for the distinguishable concrete wall with a small window, and a wooden door.
Entering the dimly lit bar, you’ll find a large counter placed on the left and table seats on the right. Everyone looks so happy enjoying talking while being intoxicated with the music.
I order a Guiness. The beer looks good with the dimly lit interior. Perfect!
Free ‘otsumami’ (snacks) is on the table. Be careful not to eat too much. You need to focus on your girlfriend, not otsumami. Haha!.
The large speaker looks perfectly placed here with the bottle rack in the back. It delivers excellent sound that fills the bar.
Unfortunately Today’s Date Seems Unsuccessful… Ending Today’s Date with Soba at Itasoba Kaoriya.
Visiting the third place on a date means the date didn’t go well. Despite that, I don’t hurry love and try to set up the second date. ‘Why don’t we have tasty soba before going home?’ I ask. (Itasoba Kaoriya: http://foodgate.net/shop_kaoriya.html)
Itasoba means soba placed in a flat wooden box. Having the itasoba, I attempt to set up the second date, saying ‘When can I see you again?’ Yes, we all need patience in life!
Soba-yu (hot water the noodles were boiled in) heals my broken heart. Well, I will win her heart next time for sure!
